Join Our Lab!
Shimizu Laboratory welcomes students who are curious, motivated, and eager to explore new ideas. We value learning, open discussion, and the excitement of turning ideas into meaningful research. Let's explore new possibilities together!
If you are interested in joining our laboratory, please feel free to contact Prof. Shimizu by email. Students interested in joining us through "Project Research" are also welcome.
Developing New Computational Technologies for Data-Intensive Research
How can we organize and analyze massive amounts of data efficiently? Can we discover new knowledge while keeping sensitive information private?
Biological data, including genomic information, offer valuable insights into how living systems work. Uncovering hidden patterns and relationships in these data requires efficient computational methods, as well as techniques for protecting individual privacy.
At Shimizu Laboratory, we address these challenges through research in algorithms, data structures, and cryptography. Our work spans applications in computational biology and the development of fundamental computational techniques for efficient data search, analysis, and privacy protection.
